Wills
We have considerable expertise in the creation and administration of both UK and international wills.
Making a will can be a stressful and complex process. Our lawyers understand the importance of a sensitive approach and can guide you through the complexities of making your will, explaining the practical and financial implications at each stage and helping you to ensure that your wishes are expressed clearly.
UK Wills
If you want to be sure that your personal wishes are followed after your death - that your loved ones are provided for, or the charities you support get the maximum benefit - then making a will is essential. Our lawyers can help you draw up a new will or review your existing will. It may also be possible to effect tax savings by a carefully drawn Will and to protect your assets for your children.
International Wills
Our team doesn't just have knowledge of the system in the UK. We can also help you if your estate includes international aspects, such as property abroad. You may need to prepare wills for separate jurisdictions and affidavits of foreign law. In addition we can advise you on death duties, conflicts of law, and domicile and succession issues, as well as on the limitations imposed by some countries on the freedom of owners to dispose of their estates as they wish. While we have considerable knowledge of many international jurisdictions, we have particular expertise in advising clients with a connection to South Africa.
