Mediation
Mediation is frequently a relatively quick and cost-effective way for parties to resolve disputes without involving the courts or formal arbitration. In many cases disputes can be resolved in hours, rather than days and weeks.
A mediator is independent so cannot impose terms of settlement. However, they can make suggestions and test the strength of the parties’ cases in relation to them. During a mediation, all parties are able to air issues and options in confidence, allowing alternative avenues to be explored without leading to concessions being made if the mediation is ultimately unsuccessful in reaching a settlement.
