John Maddocks - Head of International Probate Services

John is a Director and Head of the International Probate Services Team.

He specialises in probate and the administration of estates where clients are resident and domiciled outside the UK and provides cross-border succession advice for wills and lifetime estate planning. John joined LA in 1994 and has over forty years experience dealing with all aspects of international probate and foreign asset collection work. John’s clients include all of the major bank trust companies in South Africa.

Recent work

• Has dealt with an English intestacy where the foreign element consisted of assets in thirteen different jurisdictions
• Has provided advice for the structuring of wills where there are assets, both moveable and immoveable in five different jurisdictions
• Is currently working on an estate where the deceased died domiciled in Cote d’Ivoire with assets situated in England and the USA
