Jessica May - Solicitor

Jessica qualified as a solicitor in 2009 having completed her training contract with Lester Aldridge. Jessica advises both private clients and charities in relation to disputes arising out of the administration of an estate or a trust and has experience, in particular, of dealing with claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, Variation of Trusts Act 1958 and Will validity claims.

Recent work

• Jessica has recently advised claimants to a claim under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, involving issues of Will construction and Shariah law combined with a complicated estate administration, numerous tax issues and complex family relationships, in which the parties were able to agree matters without having to attend a contested hearing
• Jessica successfully advised defendants to a claim under the 1975 Act in the early stages of proceedings, in which the claim was subsequently discontinued and her clients obtained a contribution towards their costs
